AND!

And I just realized someone IS saying "thank you!"  A. very much has her own language and carries on very fast conversations, and clearly knows just what she is saying (and is sure you know as well).  "Kitty," "Hi, kitty!" and "Uh oh" have been a part of her vocab (that others and I can understand) for months.

But it just clicked to me that "Dthuh do" that she has been saying for a while as well is her repeating back "thank you" to me.

Hey, I'm new at this mom thing!  And now I hear a string of "Uh ohs," coming from the kitchen, so off I go....

  1. Amazing how language develops. Elena doesn't have many words per se but very specific sounds for thinks like please, milk, thank you. Facinating.

    1. Sadly, we are not doing well at all. Well, I'm not, since I don't know how she is doing. I am hoping to go back through paper journals and logs elsewhere to do an update here over the horror we have been put through and the resulting trauma I am trying to function through. Thank you for not forgetting about us.

  4. I don't know what happened to my last post, but perhaps you have taken a break from this blog, which sounds like it might be the right thing to do. I hope that whatever has happened you and the babygirl emerge on the other side ok and whole and at peace.
